Therapy in Doylestown, PA

Brave Embers Wellness has one office, and it's here in Doylestown. Lauren Mehr lives and works in town and sees adults in person in a quiet suite off New Britain Road.

For some kinds of healing, being in the same room matters. Trauma and eating disorder work often involves the body: noticing sensation, slowing down, and feeling what it's like to be settled with another person nearby. Lauren's Doylestown office offers a calm place to do that work together.

The office is at 601 New Britain Rd, Building 100, Suite 120, Doylestown, PA 18901, minutes from central Doylestown. You can find it on Google Maps. Sessions here are for adults 21 and older, and telehealth remains available for the weeks when getting to the office isn't realistic.

The office

A quiet suite in a stone building.

Suite 120 sits inside a stone building just off New Britain Road, with free parking at the door. The rooms have soft light and comfortable seating, on a quiet floor where it can be easier to let your shoulders drop before a word is said.

Office hours are Monday 10am to 5pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm, Wednesday 10am to 5pm, Thursday 10am to 6pm, and Friday 10am to 3pm. The office is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Why in person

When being in the room helps.

Telehealth works well for many people, and Lauren offers it statewide. Still, some people find it easier to settle and open up face to face. Sitting together, noticing what shifts in your posture or breath, and pausing when something lands can make body-based work feel more natural. In-person sessions can be especially helpful when:

  • Home doesn't feel private or calm enough for therapy.
  • You want a clear boundary between your sessions and the rest of your life.
  • Body-based work feels easier with another person physically present.
  • You simply prefer the rhythm of traveling to an appointment and back.

If you're weighing the two, this guide to telehealth or in-person therapy can help you think it through. You don't have to choose one forever. Some weeks might be in the office and others by video when life gets full.

What happens here

The work Lauren offers in person.

In the Doylestown office, Lauren sees adults for individual therapy focused on her specialties: complex trauma and PTSD, eating disorders and disordered eating, body image, and sexual abuse recovery, along with anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

Each session runs 60 to 90 minutes, and sessions usually begin weekly. They weave together somatic work, EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (she is trained at Level 1), parts-centered work, and experiential practices, always paced to what your nervous system can take in. Her ten-week experiential groups and private intensives are held by telehealth.

Close to home

Rooted in Bucks County.

Lauren has a soft spot for the people closest to home. If you live in or around Doylestown, or elsewhere in Bucks County or neighboring Montgomery County, in-person sessions may be a realistic option for you.

If you're farther away, online therapy across Pennsylvania offers the same approach by secure video.

To find out whether in-person sessions fit, start with a free consultation. The consultation happens by telehealth, and from there you can choose the office, video, or a mix. You can also send a short note through the contact page.
