Approach

HeartMath

A quiet biofeedback practice that syncs breath and heart rhythm, and gives a braced nervous system something new to learn.

What it is

Breath and heart, in rhythm.

Your heart doesn't beat like a metronome — the spacing between beats shifts moment to moment, and that shifting pattern is a live readout of how your nervous system is doing. HeartMath uses simple biofeedback to make that pattern visible, and pairs it with a slow, paced breath so the two start to move together.

Why it matters

When the body has been braced for a long time.

For nervous systems that have carried a lot — trauma, chronic stress, years of staying on alert — practising coherence gives the body a chance to feel, in real time, that a steadier state is possible. It's not a fix. It's a repetition, done often enough that the system starts to trust it.

How we use it

Alongside the therapy, not instead of it.

HeartMath is one of the two kinds of biofeedback I offer. We'd bring it in when it fits the work we're already doing. Back to Biofeedback →

Common questions

What people ask.

Do I need special equipment?
There are simple tools that make heart-rhythm feedback visible in real time. We'll talk through what makes sense for your setup — it's not complicated.
Is HeartMath the whole treatment?
No. It's a form of biofeedback we can bring into our work when it fits, alongside the therapy itself.
