About
Meet Lauren Mehr.
Trauma therapist. Doylestown, Bucks County. Telehealth across Pennsylvania and Arizona.

The name
Why "Brave Embers."
Brave Embers was born from my own healing journey.
No matter what we have endured, there is an ember within each of us that cannot be extinguished by pain, trauma, loss, or life's challenges. Sometimes that inner light becomes buried beneath shame, fear, self-doubt, or survival patterns, making it difficult to remember it is there.
My role as a therapist is not to "fix" you, but to help you rediscover that ember within yourself. Together, we nurture it with compassion, curiosity, and care until it begins to glow again.
How I work
Curiosity before certainty.
Rather than focusing on what's "wrong" with you, I view symptoms as adaptive responses to life experiences and work to understand them with curiosity and compassion. The behavior, the thought loop, the shutdown — each was, at some point, a solution.
Sessions weave together somatic work, EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (trained, Level 1), Internal Family Systems (trained — IFS-informed, parts-centered work), experiential practices, ERP, neurofeedback, and Safe and Sound Protocol (Certified SSP Provider) as they fit you. The modalities are in service of you — not the other way around.
I work with adults only. I don't do couples work. If eating disorders, complex trauma, body image, or the aftermath of sexual abuse are part of your story, this is my home terrain.
Where I practice
Telehealth, statewide.
I live in Doylestown, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. My practice is telehealth-only and available to adults across Pennsylvania and Arizona. There is no physical office — you meet me on secure video from wherever you feel most grounded.
While I work with clients across both states, I have a soft spot for the folks closest to home in Bucks and Montgomery County.
